Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known in the media as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her name was chosen by her parents for the town where she grew up. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father came from an ethnically Jewish background. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are her half-siblings. Ryder and her family moved to Mendocino County in California in the year 2000, when Ryder was just seven. At the time, there wasn't electricity. Ryder, who loved reading at the age of 12, became a bookworm due to the fact that Ryder did not have access to television. Ryder began taking acting classes at the age of Ryder was twelve years old, at the American Conservatory Theatre. In the year she turned fifteen, she landed her very first role onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder experienced bullying at her high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor her behaviour could be reduced. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. But that didn't stop her pursuing dreams. Her breakthrough came in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder continued to play successful roles in a variety of films. She was nominated for two Academy Awards one for her part as a character in The Age of Innocence (1993).
